The Missouri state softball and volleyball coaches associations released their annual all-state teams, and area athletes were represented on the lists.

In softball, three from Liberty, two from Liberty North and one from Kearney earned Class 4 all-state recognition.

Infielder Kelsee Mortimer and outfielder Ashton Maloney of Liberty, and infielder Katie Chester of Liberty North received first team honors.

Liberty North pitcher Hayden Simmons and Liberty infielder Raeli Howerton landed on the state’s second team.

Kearney catcher Sierra Culver made the second team list.

Smithville pitcher Makaela Carr claimed Class 3 second team all-state honors.

In volleyball, two from Liberty and one from Liberty North and another from Kearney earned Class 4 all-state honors.

Setter Meghan Schneider and outside hitter Bailee Middleton of Liberty notched recognition.

Liberty North outside hitter Taylor Gates and Kearney outside hitter Andi Kreiling also landed on the all-state volleyball list.
