Ellie Maynor places 9th in AAU Junior Olympics

GREENSBORO, North Carolina — A Liberty High School freshman that owns the fastest 3,000-meter time in the state in her age group finished inside the top 10 of the AAU Junior Olympics.

Ellie Maynor took ninth place with a time of 8 minutes, 11 seconds in the 2,000-meter steeplechase event at the national meet July 27 to Aug. 3.

Maynor’s 3,000-meter time of 10:55 landed her first in her age group, according to Mo.Milesplit.com.

Maynor will run cross country for the Blue Jays this fall.
