Williams III scores four touchdowns in Liberty's victory

Liberty's Wentric Williams III scored all four touchdowns as the Blue Jays moved to .500 on the year. 

Liberty defeated Lee’s Summit West 28-20 on Friday, Sept. 17.

The Blue Jays saw themselves down 14-0 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Tyler Lininger was able to get Liberty on the scoreboard with a 15- yard touchdown pass to Wentric Williams III.

Williams III would score three more touchdown for the Blue Jays as he accounted for 140 yards on the ground with three rushing scores. Williams III also had 27 receiving yards on four receptions including the opening score of the game for Liberty.

The defense of Liberty stood strong throughout the game as they held the Titans to 208 total yards and forced four fumbles. Liberty allowed 12 first downs by the Titans offense as Liberty moved the chains 19 times in the game.

Liberty found the end zone to ice the game with 1:25 left in the game when Williams III scored his fourth and final touchdown from two yards out.

The Blue Jays’ victory would push their record to 2-2 on the season. Liberty will face Blue Springs South at home on Friday, Sept. 24.
