LIBERTY — The postseason began with a bang for Liberty North football with a 55-14 win over Oak Park in the first round of the Class 6 District 8 Tournament Friday, Oct. 31.

SMITHVILLE — The whistle blew, and both teams slowly made their way to their respective locker rooms. The Dazzlers gave a performance, the band marched out to the field for their turn and the fans started heading toward the concession stands.

KANSAS CITY — When Kearney volleyball walked into Pembroke Hill’s gym Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, the team was faced with an opportunity.

KANSAS CITY — A great season came to a sudden halt for Smithville volleyball after falling 3-0 to Kearney in the Class 4 District 8 Tournament Semifinals Saturday, Oct. 25 at Pembroke Hill.

The season came to an end for the area’s golf teams with the state championships Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20 and 21.

KEARNEY — It was a special night for Kearney football as it wrapped up the season with a 63-6 win over Excelsior Springs on Senior Night Thursday, Oct. 23.

Liberty football already has a new addition to the trophy case after finishing the regular season with a 42-21 win on the road over North Kansas City Friday, Oct. 24.

SMITHVILLE — After falling on the road to Platte County in Week 6, Smithville football has bounced back strong with three wins in a row to end the regular season.
