LIBERTY — The Eagles’ boys swimming and diving team is quickly approaching a new season, with multiple athletes with state tournament experience set to pave the way. The Eagles graduated two from last fall’s varsity squad: Noah Warner, allstate honorable mention selection in the 200-yard medley relay and the 200 free relay; and Christopher Daniels, an all-conference honorable mention selection in diving.
LIBERTY — Liberty North’s cross country teams are looking to put together another strong season. Last fall, the boys’ squad won the KC Suburban Gold Conference, finished third in districts and took 10th in Class 5 at the state championships.

LIBERTY — A new season is upon Liberty North volleyball as the team looks to adapt to the loss of six seniors from the team a season ago. The Eagles will look a bit different this year after losing Carlie Cisneros, twotime Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year; Ella Morgan in the middle; Emmy Seiler on the right side; setter Lauren Wright; and defensive specialists Sophia Derenzy and Jenna Burroughs to graduation.
LIBERTY — Liberty softball is one of many teams preparing for a new season and looks to put another great season in the record books. After winning the KC Suburban Silver Conference and claiming its fifth district title in seven seasons in 2023, the Blue Jays look to make another run at state after a third-place finish in Class 5 in 2022.
I saw some advice online directed to upperclassmen, encouraging them to be a leader, help younger players and not be the cool guy that makes the younger students’ lives miserable. I liked the advice, but I believe as the school year is fast approaching, this advice can really be applied to us all.
Anybody who has lived in rural Missouri will tell you fueling small businesses’ growth and creating jobs here is difficult. To the candidates choosing to use these props in your ads, it looks like you haven’t formulated a policy or message that would attract people to your position. Obviously, it’s easier to use fear and intimidation instead of providing better ideas.
LIBERTY — Chipotle Mexican Grill is opening its first location in Liberty on Tuesday, Aug. 20, according to Annie Gradinger, communications spokesman for the company.
Emmy Beyeler of Kearney will serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Helsinki, Finland. She is expected to serve for 18 months.
