KEARNEY — A new season is quickly approaching for Kearney wrestling and both teams are looking to add to their recent success.The back-to-back Class 1 state champion Bulldog girls look to put together another strong season with just one graduated and eight with varsity experience returning from last year’s squad.Kearney brings back seniors Bailey Martin and Ella Herndon; juniors Gracie Danner, Josie Quick and Riley Walker; and sophomores Aida Appenfeller, Carli Vargas and Emma Schaetz.Last season, Martin won the state title in the 105-pound class.

LIBERTY — With another season quickly approaching, Liberty girls swimming and diving is looking to put together another strong campaign.Last season, the Blue Jays went 8-0 in duals, finished second in the conference championships and earned 15th at the Class 2 State Championships.

LIBERTY — As the offseason nears its end, Liberty North girls swimming and diving is looking to put together another successful campaign.Last winter, the Eagles finished second in the KC Suburban Gold Conference and earned seventh in the Class 2 State Championships.While graduating nine seniors from last year’s squad, coach Mark Warner will still have nine returners out of 29 athletes total with varsity experience as he heads into his 12th year at the helm of the program.Among Liberty North’s returners are juniors Adrianna Hudnall, Eliza Jones, Ali Moran, Emery Patterson and Annica Williams.Last season, Hudnall earned first-team all-state in the 200-yard freestyle, the 100 free, the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.

KEARNEY — With a new season set to start, Kearney girls swimming and diving is looking to build off its first conference title in six years from a season ago.Last season, the Bulldogs won the KC Suburban Blue Conference and had two individuals earn all-state honors.

On the quest to raising good humans, I realize that most people tend to use the holidays as a teachable time for kids.

AAA projects nearly 80 million travelers will head 50 miles or more from home over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period in 2024.
