LIBERTY — The Liberty City Council voted unanimously Monday, Jan. 27, to place a general sales tax increase of 1% on the April 8 ballot to hopefully fund a police department expansion and provide funding for salary and benefits for public safety department personnel.

KEARNEY — Criminal charges are being filed, according to Kearney police, after a man fired shots at another Kearney resident using what turned out to be a rifle-style pellet gun this past weekend.
