DORIS MAY (DUNGAN) MANN

1925 – 2024

Doris May Mann, 99, of Kearney, Missouri, passed away at 12:13 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, Missouri.

  Doris was born on February 4, 1925 in Logan, Iowa to George and Katherine (Webber) Dungan. She was one of eleven children and grew up in Kidder, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Roy Spencer Craghead Jr. in April 1942. They had one daughter, Ruby Caroline “Lucky”. Roy passed away in September 1944. She then met Martin Oren Mann and they were united in marriage in November 1945. They had one daughter, Mary Michaele. Doris and Martin were married for 51 years before he passed away in September 1997. She worked in the medical field for 30 years. She was employed at Cameron Hospital in Cameron, Missouri, Gashland Clinic in Gladstone, Missouri, and for Watson Clinic in Lakeland, Florida. She later worked for Dr. Barry Bowles at Kearney Vision Care in Kearney, Missouri for 6 years before she retired at the age of 80. She recently became a member of First Baptist Church in Kearney where she was baptized at the age of 98.

  Doris was preceded in death by her parents, George and Kathrine Dungan; husbands, Roy Craghead Jr. and Martin Mann; siblings, Dorothy Bryant, Pauline Shaney, Leona Barnes, Opal Wilson, Marvin Dungan, Ruby Hafner, Mary Decot, Georgia Stout, John Dungan, and Fern Evelyn Dungan. She is survived by her daughters, Lucky Bloss and husband Jerry and Michaele Davis and husband Don; grandchildren, Melissa Sargent, Shannon Bloss, Shane Grooms, Clay Grooms; great grandchildren, Samantha Gould, Spencer Sargent, Danielle Bloss, Ryan Bloss, Cosett Grooms, and Miki Sue Swanson; great great grandchildren, Alexis Conley, Railyn Anderson, Melayna Swanson, Briar Swanson, Cole Swanson, Laiken Gould, Taegan Gould, and Aubree Austria; and her close friend, Beth Johnson.

  Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 AM on Friday, December 20, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Kearney, Missouri. A visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:30 AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Cameron Memory Gardens in Cameron, Missouri. Memorials and contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.
