Jerry Stringfellow passed away on August 10, 2025, following a diagnosis of colon cancer earlier this year in February.
Born on April 12, 1947, in Tilden, Nebraska, Jerry’s early years were spent in the Midwest. His family moved to Missouri during his childhood and eventually settled in Liberty. In 1974, Jerry married Susan Powell, and this year they joyfully celebrated 51 years of marriage.
In 1979, Jerry and Susan made Colorado their home, where they raised their family and embraced a life filled with adventure. They spent several years living off-grid at an elevation of 9,700 feet, fully immersed in the rugged beauty of the mountains. Many of their happiest times were spent exploring remote trails and rock crawling in their beloved Jeeps. Jerry and Susan also shared a love for riding motorcycles, enjoying countless journeys together on their Harleys through the western United States.
Beyond his adventurous spirit, Jerry was a skilled and passionate mechanic. He took great pride in building, maintaining, and fine-tuning the vehicles he worked on. With Susan and their sons, he crafted a life defined by exploration, craftsmanship, and meaningful memories.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Susan, and their sons, Ron (JoAnn), Russ (Debbie), and Ryan (Valerie). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Taylor, Hunter, Nicholas, Matthew, Whitney, Lexi, Carson, and Scout, as well as his sister Lori Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen, and his younger brother Mike.
Following Jerry’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, his family will gather outdoors to share a beer, swap stories, and celebrate a life well lived.
