BARBARA BOWMAN
10/03/1937 – 09/16/2025
Barbara (Bobbi) A. Bowman, 87, of Lawson, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, after a valiant battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born on October 3, 1937, in Martin, South Dakota, to John and Katherine Kamerzell, Bobbi lived a full and vibrant life filled with love, family, and her many passions.
Bobbi was first married to her high school sweetheart, Robert E. Benson, and together they made their home in Aberdeen, South Dakota before moving to Littleton, Colorado. Later, she was known as Barbara Skeith during her marriage to Phillip W. Skeith; they made their homes in Aurora, Basalt and Pueblo, Colorado before traveling and then retiring in Gladstone, Missouri. She found love again with her surviving husband, Carl Bowman.
A devoted mother, Bobbi is survived by her three daughters: Terri Lynn (married to Lee Grant), Leanne Denise (married to Rick McElhaney), and Traci Ann (married to J. Scott McKown). Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, including triplets from Traci, and five great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Bobbi was a passionate Kansas City Chiefs fan, cheering fervently for Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. She found solace in reading, watching westerns, and caring for the animals on their farm, including dogs, cats, mules, a horse, cattle, and the wild birds she loved to feed and observe.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Benson, her second husband, Phillip W. Skeith, and all seven of her siblings and their spouses, Bobbi is surely greeted by a warm and loving welcoming party in eternity.
Her spirit, love for life, and devotion to family will be cherished forever by those who knew her.
She will be interred at Newcomer’s White Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery in Gladstone, Missouri on September 24, 2025; no services to be held.
