LIBERTY — The Liberty Arts Commission awarded the 2025 Annual Grant and the remaining Mini Grant funds recently. The art grants are funded through the Transient Guest Tax and are awarded to programs and events that support art and tourism in Liberty, according to a city release.
LIBERTY — A collection of nature-inspired art is in the exhibition space at Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary, 407 N. La Frenz Road. The beauty of nature expressed in many art forms is part of the “Bridging Art & Nature” exhibit.
LIBERTY — Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.
SMITHVILLE — The Smithville Parks and Recreation Master Plan outlines the community desire for public art.
LIBERTY — The Liberty Community Chorus March 16 concert, “Singing the Music of Mark Hayes,” features songs from a leading contemporary choral music composer. Hayes himself will conduct and accompany several pieces. The concert is sponsored by the Liberty Arts Commission.
KEARNEY — The KEC Gala event will be Saturday, March 15. This year’s theme is “Hollywood Nights.”

LIBERTY — Prolific contemporary playwright Ken Ludwig, who created “Lend Me a Tenor,” also crafted a comedy titled “The Fox on the Fairway.” The play was written in 2010, but hearkens back to the British farces of the 1930s and 40s with a mix of the Marx Brothers thrown in for good measure.
LIBERTY — The deadline to apply to be a vendor for the Historic Downtown Liberty Inc. Farmers’ Market is Friday, March 3.
