Summer reading wraps up
We have had so much fun with kids of all ages this summer at the library. While we are so excited for them to go to school for another year of learning and fun, we will miss the hustle and bustle of all the kids in the library throughout the summer months.

Riverside man faces felony charge in Kearney shooting
KEARNEY — An 18-yearold Riverside man faces a felony charge after Kearney police investigated occupied residences that were shot into. Officers were initially dispatched to the 1200 block of Geneva Circle on Sept. 2 for property damage. Once on scene, investigators determined two occupied residences were shot into multiples times.

CLAY COUNTY — The trial for Andrew Lester, the elderly man charged in the shooting of an unarmed teen who came to his house by mistake in 2023, will not take place next month as originally planned. A judge this week ordered a mental health examination of Lester, delaying the case.
