CLAY COUNTY — As of Tuesday, March 25, the Clay County Public Health Center shared that there have been no reported measles cases in the county. However, the health center has shared details on the current cases found around the nation as well as the Centers for Disease Control.

SMITHVILLE — The City of Smithville adopted its first comprehensive plan in 1966. Since that time, the plan has been updated several times, the most recent of which occurred in 2020. The current comprehensive plan is described as a guidance tool to be used by the Planning Commission and the Board of Aldermen when implementing provisions of the zoning ordinances.
CLAY COUNTY — The Northland Regional Ambulance District is asking voters April 8 for general obligation bonds not to exceed $15,100,000 to build a new headquarters building in Platte County, a new satellite station in northern Smithville and renovate the existing station.
LIBERTY — It’s the start of a new era for Liberty North baseball as it heads into its first season under new leadership.
LIBERTY — The Liberty Community Chorus March 16 concert, “Singing the Music of Mark Hayes,” features songs from a leading contemporary choral music composer. Hayes himself will conduct and accompany several pieces. The concert is sponsored by the Liberty Arts Commission.
LIBERTY — A little over two months after April Fleming announced her retirement from Liberty volleyball following 21 seasons with the program, the new helm of the Blue Jays has been found.
KEARNEY — The campaign concluded for Kearney boys basketball with a 70-56 loss to Pembroke Hill in the semifinals of the Class 5 District 8 Tournament Friday, March 7.
The season wrapped up for Smithville boys basketball with a 102-55 loss to Winnetonka in the first round of the Class 5 District 8 Tournament Wednesday, March 5.
