Eagle girls basketball looks to build off 1st season under new leadership

LIBERTY — With the start of a new campaign approaching for Liberty North girls basketball, the program is set to enter its second season under coach Sydney Ritter.In the Eagles’ first campaign under Ritter, they finished with a 25-3 overall record, undefeated in conference and with their first KC Suburban Gold Conference title in program history.Ritter and company will look to build off their first season together after graduating three starters from last year’s squad: Kennedy Herrig, Ava Levings and Gabby Rose.

Liberty boys basketball heads into new season looking to rebuild

LIBERTY — Blue Jays basketball is aiming to rebuild as it prepares for a new campaign after losing four starters from last season.Coach Joseph Price and company will look to build off a 16-11 overall record and third-place finish in conference after graduating conference player of the year Zak Aganovic, second-team all-conference guard Edric Binagi and all-conference honorable mention selections Adam Fuller, Braden Kracht and JJ Price.Liberty returns senior guard Kale Mortimer, who also earned all-conference honorable mention a season ago.

New coach to lead Eagles boys basketball

LIBERTY — Eagles boys basketball is looking to revamp with its first season under new head coach Ryan Rippee.Rippee and the Eagles will look to improve on a 9-16 overall record and first-round exit in districts a season ago and will look to do so after losing three heavy contributors from last season: Matthew Barno, Gabe Perry and Kale Staats.However, Liberty North returns three athletes with playing experience: senior shooting guard Jack Huyser, senior forward Ryne Jensen and senior forward Bleu Renfrow.

Liberty girls basketball heads into season under new leadership

LIBERTY — Blue Jays girls basketball is set to enter a new chapter with its first season under new head coach Aaron Neeser.Neeser, who comes to the program after serving as Park Hill South’s assistant coach last season, will look to help bounce the team back from last campaign’s 12-14 overall record, 3-7 conference record and first-round exit in the Class 6 District 8 Tournament.He’ll look to do so with just two returning starters from last season’s squad: senior forward and Simpson College-commit Izzy DeSchepper and sophomore guard Hadley Gravatt.
