ELLEN WOGOMON

Ellen (Morris) Wogomon, 81, of Liberty, Missouri, died January 21, 2025, at Northland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Kansas City.
She was born October 10, 1943, in Fulton, Missouri, daughter of Jim and Sue (Craighead) Morris. The family lived in Fulton and Ellen graduated Fulton High School in 1961 and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. On April 11, 1964, she married Gerald (Jerry) Wogomon in Moberly, Missouri. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas, in 1964 and Jerry worked at General Motors while Ellen was a homemaker.
The couple had two sons, Scott Anthony, born in 1965, and Brian Quinn, born in 1968. The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1968, as Jerry took a job at the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in Claycomo. A third son, Grant Eric, was born in North Kansas City in 1970.
The family enjoyed youth sports where Jerry often served as coach and Ellen served as “transportation director” often taking her three sons to three different ballgames on a single night. The Wogomons took summer vacations, usually to warm locales where they enjoyed sight-seeing, the beach and amusement parks.
Ellen enjoyed a full life dedicated to her family and friends. She loved her cats, music having seen Elvis in concert three times, among others, and the Kansas City Chiefs. She was a celebrated clothes collector and closet organizer.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, including stepfather Don Pearre of Fulton, and her son, Brian. She will be missed by her son, Scott, and wife, Sheila (Yoder), and granddaughter, Emma Grace, of Blue Springs, Missouri; her son, Grant, grandson, Alex, and wife, Ashlynn (Stumph), and great-granddaughters Anna Kay and Parker Lynn, all of Liberty.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
