FRANCES LEE EWING HAMPTON
Frances Lee Ewing Hampton, age 89, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Frances was born the daughter of Lowell and Irene (Kirby) Ewing on September 19, 1935, in Meadville, Missouri. She was a 1953 graduate of Meadville High School, Meadville, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John William Hampton on April 16, 1971, in Camdenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2023.
Frances was employed at Bank Midwest in Chillicothe for 29 years, where she met people from all walks of life. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and was an avid knitter. She was a wife, an adopted mother, an adopted grandmother, an aunt, and a friend for life to many; she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Donna Bragg of Corsicana, Texas; nephew David Lamp (Connie) of Lubbock, Texas; one niece, Lisa Hampton Stephens (Chris) of Princeton, Missouri; great niece Payge Nelson (Riley) and their daughter, Ember of Lineville, Iowa; great nephew, Dalton Stephens of Princeton, Missouri; and close family friends, Bub and Mona Cunningham of Chillicothe, Missouri, Taylor Cunningham Perez (Paul and Aiden) of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Tyler Cunningham of Chillicothe, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John; one sister, Opal Ruth Ewing Wood; nephew, Dennis Lamp; grandparents, Frederick Lee and Emma Gipson Kirby; two uncles, Lee (Dorothy) Kirby and Gerald (Mary) Kirby; and one aunt, Evelyn Kirby.
A memorial service will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
