JAMES DALE EASTIN

FEBRUARY 24, 1943 MARCH 17, 2025

I was born on February 24th, 1943, in Douds, Iowa. My name was James Dale Wilcoxson. My biological parents were Twyla and Darl Wilcoxson. When I was 1 week old, my mother died from scarlet fever. Since I was the youngest of 5, the oldest only 8 years old, my father agreed to let his sister and her husband, Lylia and Fred Eastin, who had no children of their own, adopt me and changed my last name to Eastin.
I grew up in Blythedale, Missouri, and graduated high school at North Harrison in Eagleville, Missouri. I attended the University of Missouri and then worked at United Missouri Bank for 16 years. I then joined The International Union of Elevator Construction Local #12, working in the elevator industry mostly for Dover/ThyssenKrupp Elevator Company but also for US Elevator & Kone Elevator Co. until I retired in 2005.
I was preceded in death by my biological parents, Darl and Twyla Wilcoxson; my adopted parents, Fred and Lylia Eastin; and my oldest son, Robert James Eastin.
I am survived by my wife Kiersten Stone-Eastin of the home; my son, Stephen Todd Eastin; my daughter Gayla Jo Hamilton (Roy); Bryce Wayne Bayless; Christine Sue Smith (Eric); six grandchildren, Christopher, Kelsey, Riley, Reece, Jazzmin, Colt; one great-grandchild, Lane; and my canine friend, Cookie.
A graveside service will be held at Eagleville Masonic Union Cemetery, Eagleville, MO, on April 5, 2025 at 2 p.m.
