LaVeta Maud (Sloan) Roach, 97, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away January 17, 2025. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Saturday, January 25, 2025, followed by funeral services at 11:00am, all at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin St., Liberty, MO 64068. Interment will follow in Glenridge Cemetery, B Highway, Liberty, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
 LaVeta was born April 22, 1927 in Platte City, Missouri to Clarence and Thelma Sloan. She attended Platte City Schools. LaVeta married the love of her life, William “Bill” Barney Roach, Jr at the age of fifteen. They raised two children, Gary and Carol. LaVeta and Bill owned and operated a travel trailer business, Riviera Trailer Sales, and later AAA RV Sales. They were members of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. LaVeta and Bill loved to travel and spent many pleasant trips all over the country and enjoyed spending time with family at Lake Pomme De Terre.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Thelma Sloan; her brother, Wayne Sloan; her beloved husband, William “Bill” Roach, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Hazel Royal and her husband John; her children, Gary D. Roach, and Carol J. Mathews; her grandson, Scott Schroeder; and her grandson-in-law, Robert Roark.
 LaVeta is survived by her son-in-law, Herbert Mathews; her granddaughters, Dawn Shultz, Melissa Schroeder, and Deana Roark; her great-grandchildren, Eden, Justin, Danielle, Cameron, Tamara, Terri, and Colton; as well as several great great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
