Leslie Marie Oberbroeckling-Stevenson, 61, of Pleasant Valley, MO, passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2024. While her departure was untimely, we find solace in knowing that God has called upon another true spokesperson, one as kind-hearted, compassionate, and unforgettable as Leslie herself. Born on June 19, 1963, in New Jersey to Leroy and Veronica Miller, Leslie was the third of four children. From an early age, she made her mark on the world with her vibrant personality and strong voice. Leslie’s journey led her to Grand Junction, CO, where she was pursuing her dream at beauty school. There, she met the love of her life, Chris Oberbroeckling, and they were married in 1985. Together, they welcomed two beloved children, Colby and Laci, who became the pride of Leslie’s life. Tragically, Chris passed away in 2007, but Leslie’s strength and love saw her through, raising her children with the same boundless affection. In 2010, Leslie found the second love of her life Michael Stevenson, whom she affectionately called “Magic Mike.” Their love story brought joy and stability to her life, and Mike embraced her children as his own, creating a blended family filled with love and warmth. There was no stranger to Leslie. She was known for her ability to make everyone feel like a friend. Her natural kindness and engaging spirit made her a beloved figure at KC Braces and Kids in Liberty, where she was known to many as “Mama Les”. She cherished every child as if they were her own, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. God got a true angel. Leslie is survived by her husband, Michael; her children, Colby and Laci; her dog, Harlow; her brother, Ross Miller, and his wife, Shauna; her best friend and sister, Kori Miller; her mother-in-law, Donna; her brothers-in-law, Chris (Connie) and Rick (Belinda); and her rambunctious grand-dogs, Zeppelin and Nova. She also leaves behind a vast circle of friends who are deeply mourning her loss. A memorial service celebrating Leslie’s life will be held on August 10, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Heritage Hall, 117 W Kansas St, Liberty, MO 64068. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Leslie’s memory by embracing a stranger with the same kindness and warmth she shared with everyone she
met.
