MILDRED SHOEMAKER

 Mildred “Millie” Mary Shoemaker (Chmelir), 84, passed away on March 23, 2025. Millie was born on November 20, 1940 in Cole Camp, MO to Leonard and Ida (Kuttenkuler) Chmelir. She graduated from Cole Camp High School in 1958. Millie married Jess Henry Shoemaker, on March 31, 1959. Millie and Jess moved to Kansas City, MO in 1959 and then to Lathrop, MO in 1964 to raise their family. She was a well thought of member of the Lathrop community and active with the Lathrop Christian Church, Study Club and PTA. In 1993 they moved to Liberty, MO where she became an active member of the Liberty Christian Church.
 Her family remembers her as a kind, gentle and patient mother and grandmother. She loved her granddaughters Lauren, Karlie and Steph dearly and was extremely excited to meet her first great grand­baby in June of 2025. Millie was an accomplished gardener with the most beautiful perennial garden, as well as a marvelous cook and party planner! She enjoyed hosting holiday dinners, parties for her Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the GMC Chevrolet Truck Club of Kansas City that she and Jess belong to. Mille and Jess spent many years at the Lake of the Ozarks making memories with friends and family. She was always excited to go for a boat ride! Millie loved her dogs and had many schnauzers by her side throughout the years.
 She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, her parents Lenoard and Ida (Kuttenkuler) Chmelir of Cole Camp, her sister Dorothy (Chmelir) Moiser of Sedalia, her father and mother in law, Henry and Doris (Brazeal) Shoemaker of Cole Camp, and sister in law Joyce (Shoemaker) Brassfield.
Millie is survived by her loving husband of almost 66 years, Jess Shoemaker; cherished children, Rodney and Diane Shoemaker, Phil and Heidi Shoemaker; beloved granddaughters Lauren, Steph and Karlie (Kye Saunders); her sister Martha (Chmelir) Fallon-Kaufhold and her sister in laws Alice (Shoemaker) Deatherage and Judy (Shoemaker) Green.
 Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2025, 9:00 am with services at 10:00 am. Burial immediately following at White Chapel Funeral Home located at 6600 NE Antioch
Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119 with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Millie’s life.
