Patricia “Patty” Ann McNellis Shemwell, 75, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully November 10, 2024.
 Patty was born March 14, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, to parents Patrick and Rita McNellis. She graduated from Glennon High School in the Northeast neighborhood. She was involved with St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs and taught CCD classes for 30 years. She enjoyed life and loved tending to her flower beds and taking care of her yard. She and Bob loved traveling together. Patty also loved entertaining family and friends during the holidays.
 She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tim McNellis.
 Patty is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dr. Robert Shemwell; brothers, Mike McNellis (Donna Foster), Ed (Vickie) McNellis, and Vince (Penni) McNellis; sister, Mary Kay (Bill) Sharp; sister-in-law, Sue Foley, of Bonita, California; Bob’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and two dogs, Nickel and Penny.
 A visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, from 5:00-6:30 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. The funeral mass will be held Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 with rosary at 9:45 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. A graveside will follow mass at Crown Hill Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
