
Liberty High robotics team seeks community help
LIBERTY — The Liberty High School Robotics Team 1764 is marking its 20th anniversary this year. The 37 team members range in grades from freshman to senior.

LIBERTY — The 15th Annual Wine About Winter event from Historic Downtown Liberty Inc. is Saturday, Feb. 15.

LIBERTY — High school senior William Duncan, a member of Scout Troop 376, built a new shelter in Ruth Moore Park as part of his Eagle Scout project. He started in June and finished on Dec. 31, 2024.

Liberty girls basketball kicked off its run in the North Kansas City Tournament with a 78-43 win over Blue Valley North (Kansas) in the first round Monday, Feb. 3.

LIBERTY — At 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, Clay County African American Legacy Inc. will host an African American read-in at Garrison School Cultural Center, 502 N. Water St.

LIBERTY — The Liberty City Council voted unanimously Monday, Jan. 27, to place a general sales tax increase of 1% on the April 8 ballot to hopefully fund a police department expansion and provide funding for salary and benefits for public safety department personnel.

LIBERTY — After eight years of working from the basement or the kitchen table, the nonprofit Isaac’s Dream will move into an office at 117 B N. Main St. in Liberty. The team will hold a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2. The open house runs until 7 p.m.

LIBERTY — It was a throwback night for Liberty’s basketball teams as they returned to Cokely Fieldhouse to play Park Hill South Tuesday, Jan. 28.
