LIBERTY — The ball was snapped. With hundreds of fans roaring at him from both sides, Liberty senior quarterback Connor Hatfield caught the ball, moved to his left, found a hole at the line of scrimmage and showcased his speed for a 27-yard run.

LIBERTY — Nearly nine months since Liberty football’s first trip to the state semifinals in 27 years, a new season is about to begin.

COLUMBIA — Trenton Bindel stood behind the podium as he waited for his name to be called. He looked up, smiled and shook his head, seemingly in disbelief of what he just achieved.

Liberty boys wrestling will have to create more space in the trophy case after competing in the Class 4 District 4 Tournament Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22, in Grain Valley.
