SMITHVILLE — It was a successful weekend for Smithville volleyball as it held a quad Saturday, Sept. 6.

Kearney football hit the road for the first time this season for a battle of the Bulldogs as the team played Grandview Friday, Sept. 5.

Smithville girls golf started its season by competing in the Dottie Drukker Memorial Tournament Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Tiffany Greens Golf Course.

Kearney boys swimming and diving started its season by competing in the SouthRock Invite Saturday, Aug. 30 at Blue Springs Aquatic Center.

SMITHVILLE — The second year of coach Josh Speer for Smithville football started in similar fashion to the first.

INDEPENDENCE — Liberty softball started the season 3-2 in the Greater Kansas City Invitational Friday and Saturday, Aug. 29 and 30, at Adair Park.

LIBERTY — Smithville’s cross country teams put together a solid day to begin year two under coach Riley Gorham.
